Background
Fara founded Island Wide Speech in 2013, after several years of working in the clinical field. Fara’s clientele ranges in age focusing on auditory, speech and language therapy in individual and group sessions. She has a specialty in auditory oral therapy for individuals with hearing loss, auditory processing disorder, and other listening challenges.
Licensure
Fara is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is licensed in the state of New York as a Speech-Language Pathologist and Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Difficulties (TSSLD), and is PROMPT Trained. Fara received her Bachelors degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from SUNY at Buffalo.
Research
Fara’s research explores peer-to-peer conversational skills and interactions of children with hearing loss, with a focus on group therapy techniques. She has created and conducted new group programs focusing on social communication of infants, toddlers, school-aged, preteens, teenagers, and adults with hearing loss. In addition, Fara has executed an infant through toddler program focusing on specific literary protocols and social communication as part of a multidisciplinary team with an audiologist.

Jacqueline began her career as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist at a pediatric clinic in Queens, NY. She later expanded her clinical experience working for a non-profit speech and language school where she provided speech and language services to students with a wide range of speech and language delays/disorders. Additionally, she taught play and social skills groups, led language arts groups, and provided homecare as an independent contractor. Most recently, Jacqueline worked at a special education preschool before beginning at Island Wide Speech. Jenyca began her career working with children in the school setting with a variety of speech and language deficits such as articulation and phonological impairments, receptive and expressive language disorders, literacy deficits, and hearing impairments. In addition to working for Island Wide Speech, she works in a public school setting in Brooklyn, NY and works in an autism spectrum disorder nest program, in which she targets social communication. Jenyca also has experience providing homecare and tele-therapy services for children aged 0-3 who have delays secondary to hearing loss. Working in this field has taught her to stay positive, have patience, and be more flexible in her treatment approaches.
